FM0 to NRZ Protocol Converter
|
|
|
ProConv is a protocol converter that converts a FM0 encoded data to and from NRZ encoded data. FM0
encoded data is received and transmitted through a RS422 port, while NRZ encoded data is transmitted
through a RS232 port. Both ports expect synchronous bit streams, with data formatted in HDLC frames.
Data received on one port is transmitted out the other port, and vice versa. The bit rates used by each
port need not be the same.

ProConv units can be used individually or in pairs. When used individually, the unit converts data from
RS422 / FM0 format to RS232 / NRZ format. When used in pairs, RS422 / FM0 data can be converted to
RS232 / NRZ format for transmission over standard communications link. At the other end of the link,
another ProConv unit converts the NRZ stream back to a RS422 / FM0 stream.
